Weekly update!

Hi everyone!
I have absolutely no news for you this week, but I want to keep posting weekly updates anyway! Here's a few small bits:
- I was in Seattle for Geek Girl Con on Saturday with my brother Nick and his partner Belinda. We were selling our RPG The Magical Land of Yeld and had a really nice time. Lots of kids will be getting Mermaid Hunters sets for Christmas!
- I had to get new printing quotes for the Modest Medusa books, since the quotes I had originally asked for were several months out of date. It looks like the books will be a little more expensive to print than I expected, but that should be fine. I'm expecting to order Stickers and Prints this week. The prices for those have stayed the same.
- I was hoping to spend a few days this week playing the new season of Apex Legends! But my TV is broke. Its very sad. I missed most of last season due to work, and it looks like this season will be the same!
I think that's it for this week. If you live in the US don't forget to vote today! Have a nice week!

Weekly update!

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a nice week. Right after my last update I got really sick and ended up spending most the of a week home in bed. I'm doing fine now, but I've gotten off to a slow start this month!
I have just a few things to talk about this week.
Kickstarter Surveys: I sent out the Kickstarter Survey today. In the past the survey was vital, but since I'll be using Backerkit for this project this is mostly a formality. The survey reminds you to update your email and address. Don't worry, I'll ask again before I ship your packages next year! Other than that, the survey contains just a single question that will help me plan my next project.
Guest Stars: If you selected the Guest Star add-on I've sent you a message through Kickstarter detailing what I'll need from you so you can appear in a Modest Medusa strip. Check your messages! If you didn't get this message and were expecting to, please let me know.
Backerkit: I'm off to a slow start with Backerkit. Luckily there's no rush. I expect to have Backerkit up and going around the middle of the month.
Convention: I'll be at Geek Girl Con in Seattle this Saturday with my brother Nick. We'll be exhibiting our all-ages role playing game The Magical Land of Yeld. Come check us out at booth 1112. We'll have some great holiday deals!
That's it for now. Have a great week!

What's up?

Hi everyone! Its been a week since the Kickstarter and I wanted to check in and tell you what I've been up to. I also have a little bit of good news!
Kickstarter Survey and Backerkit: I'll be sending out the Kickstarter Survey later this week. This will be the first step toward fulfilling your orders so please make sure you fill it out!
Early next month I'll be launching the Backerkit for this project. I'll have a full rundown of how to use Backerkit at that time, but basically you'll be able to confirm your order and address and add on any extra items you want. I'll also eventually be charging you for shipping through Backerkit, but that won't happen until all rewards are ready to ship.
Printing: I've unfortunately learned that printing the Season 4 and 5 books will be a little more expensive than I thought. I received a quote from the printer in June, but the quote expired in September. Fortunately the new price isn't a huge increase and is within the project budget. I'm REALLY glad we overfunded, since this project already had a VERY tight budget!
48 Hour Modest Medusa: Even though we didn't meet the stretch goal I've decided to offer the new 48 Hour Modest Medusa book through Backerkit. I know a bunch of you were disappointed we didn't unlock this book, so I've decided to put aside some time to complete it before the end of the year. You'll be able to select both it and the 24 Hour Modest Medusa book as an add-ons in Backerkit. I think the price will be $11 or 12 each.
Guest Appearances: A record 22 of you pledged to guest star in upcoming Modest Medusa strips. -Deep Breath- I'll find places for all of you, I promise! I'll be contacting each of you about this next month. I hope to start putting you all in the comic before the end of the year.
I think that's it for this week. I'll be back with another update next week!

All about 24 and 48 Hour Modest Medusa!

Hi everyone! This week the Kickstarter took a big jump over the $10,000 mark! We're 75% funded with 9 days to go! I really appreciate your support. This is a big project and its only happening because you've all decided to help!
I think we can make it into some stretch goals! The two I'm most excited about are the new "24 Hour comic" books. The 24 Hour Comic challenge was created by Scott McCloud decades ago. The goal is to create a full 24 page comic in just 24 hours! I've participated in the challenge most years since starting Modest Medusa and teh results are always fun!
The original 24 Hour Modest Medusa book was published as part of a Kickstarter about 8 years ago, but has been out of print for years. I'm really excited for a chance to bring this book back! 24 Hour Modest Medusa is a 100+ page black & white softcover book containing 4 comic stories:
- 24 Hour Comic
- Taco Tuesday
- Modest Medusa Loves Lego
- The Night before Christmas (originally created just for this book)
The new 48 Hour Modest Medusa book will be a matching softcover. It will contain 5 stories, including two new ones, and will likely be about 130 pages:
- Lets Clean Jake's Room
- Keymas part 1 & 2
- Raccoon's Big Adventure (new in this book)
- Revenge of T-Shirt Medusa! (new in this book)
I'll be really excited to have both of these books in print! Of course, I'll be making digital copies available for free for all backers!

Whats in the Modest Medusa PDF Library?

Hi everyone! We've got less than a week to go, and teh Kickstarter is getting close to 80% funded. Can we make it? I bet we can!
A LOT of you have pledged for the Modest Medusa PDF Library or will be receiving PDFs of some of teh books as part of your rewards. I want to take this chance to tell you what to expect and how I want these PDFs to be different from what I've offered in the past.
In previous Kickstarters I've offered each Modest Medusa book as a PDF file, and I've sold these same PDF files online. These were simply direct copies of the physical books, the same files I sent to the printers. For this Kickstarter I want to try to do a little bit extra with the PDFs.
- I'll be offering you separate PDFs for each book, but you'll also be able to download one big PDF containing everything. You'll have access to both and can choose which format works better for you.
- Modest Medusa is a long comic and it can be hard to keep track of all the characters, events and references. I'd like to be able to include footnote links on each page to specific strips for context. For example, when Michelle appears in a strip there can be a footnote linking to the strips where she first appeared as the Innkeeper and where we find out she's been working with the Knight of Chains. These footnote links can also be handy for referencing plot points, jokes or locations.
- Since the PDF Library is a digital product it won't be limited by page space. This gives me the opportunity to include things that won't easily fit in a book, like more art! Specifically, I can show you alternate versions of strips that never saw print, sketches, notes and more! I can also expand teh author commentary, which I sometimes have to limit for space in the books.
Anyway, I'm hoping these PDFs will be pretty cool! A lot of you have selected them as a reward and I want to make sure you're getting a good value.
