Digital rewards and Dropbox

Hi everyone. Its come to my attention that some of you who are trying to use Dropbox to download your PDFs are being asked for permission, or to login to a Dropbox account, or to make a new Dropbox account. I'm currently not sure why this is happening, or why some of you aren't having this issue, but I am looking into it. In the meantime I will manually approve any request to access the Dropbox files. I'd also suggest downloading the files from Backerkit instead.

Digital Reward available now, update on Posters and Plush

Hi everyone. I hope you had a great Halloween. I know a lot of you have received your books over the last two weeks, and most of the rest of you should be getting them soon if you live in the US. Hopefully those of you in the rest of the world will also see your packages soon! Its been a very busy week for me, but I'm happy to say that Digital Rewards are now available for download! I also want to tell you more about when Posters and Plush items will ship.
New cool stuff! I spent some time adding quite a bit of content to the new Modest Medusa PDFs. I think this new content really adds value to the PDFs and makes them worth reading even if you already have the books. Here's what you're getting:
- I've added a small amount of new commentary to the Season 1, 2, 3 and 4 pdfs.
- Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 each contain a brand new Afterward where I discuss the making of the season and my thoughts on it years later.
- Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 each contain an extensive art gallery, with new commentary.
- Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 each contain a character index, and new characters are linked to the index on the page they first appear.
- 24 Hour Modest Medusa now contains the short comic Modest Medusa Learns to Paint.
Download Digital Rewards: All PDF rewards can be downloaded right now. You can visit Backerkit to download your files, or find Dropbox links in your Kickstarter messages. Many of you pledged for the Digital Library, but remember that the physical books also come with PDFs. Not only that, the 48 Hour Modest Medusa PDF is available for free to every backer! Because of a weird complication a few of you won't be able to download the 48 Hour Modest Medusa book from Backerkit. Instead, you can find a link in your Kickstarter messages.

Posters: The Modest Medusa posters will be arriving from the printer next week, and I'm ready to ship them out immediately. Expect them to be in the mail by the 15th of November. They will ship in tubes. There's no additional shipping cost for these items, of course.
Plush: Plush items like the charms and pillows have been delayed, but will ship as soon as possible. Part of this is my fault. I waited longer than I should have to get the order to my friend who makes these, and by the time I did she was wrapped up in holiday orders that needed to be filled. And the she suffered two back to back injuries that have kept her from being able to work. She's recovering, don't worry! Right now my hope is to ship these items in early December, although it may happen sooner if we're lucky. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for your patience!

Shipping is NOT done. Misleading title.
But...
This morning I'll be dropping off the last big batch of packages at the post office. On Monday I'll be dropping off a half dozen packages at UPS. And that's it for books. If you live in this US you should have either already received your books, or you'll see them sometime next week. If you live outside the US your books are on the way. Hopefully it won't take too long!
Tracking numbers: You can check your Kickstarter messages for your tracking number. I use USPS for almost all packages. If your tracking number is short its probably a UPS package. If you live outside the US you may have a tracking number that starts with "AHOY". I buy postage through a fulfillment service called Pirateship, and international packages go to their fulfillment center first. So please use this link to check your tracking number. (The AHOY prefix is a pirate joke, I guess)
Plush and posters: As I mentioned before, both the posters/prints and plush items have been slightly delayed. My hope is to ship both next month. Posters with ship in tubes and plush items will ship in mailing bags. This will be at no additional cost to you. I'll have an update for you about these items as soon as I have any news.
Digital rewards: Now that shipping is (more or less) done, I'm turning my attention to digital rewards. These will be delivered next month. Hopefully early next month.
Guest stars: I am slowly working guest stars into Modest Medusa strips. This is always a challenge, and this time 30+ of you signed up for this reward. In the past I'd only ever done 5-10 for each Kickstarter. I enjoy including guest stars, but it takes time to find places to fit them into the story. I hope to include most of you in this coming season (which will run for the rest of this year and through next year.
I think that's it for now. As I've been packing up your books I finally got around to reading the notes your left me in the Kickstarter survey. A lot of you sent messages of support, or just had nice things to say. I really appreciate that. I feel like we have a strange relationship. I don't know most of you at all, but I know your names. Some of you have been coming back for over a decade. I remember your user pics, or fragments of your addresses. Or random comments. Or meeting you briefly at a con or store. Of course, some of you I also know much better. You've been part of my life for 12 years, or 7 years, or 4 years, and I appreciate it. Thank you all so much.

Book are going out the door!

Hi everyone. I hope you're having a good week! I've been busy shipping books. I have just a few small things to go ever with you today.
Shipping: Books are going out the door pretty fast. I've shipped a little over a quarter of the packages so far, and I expect to be at half way by Monday. Most of your packages should be out the door by the end of next week unless something goes wrong! You can check your messages here on Kickstarter or your status on Backerkit to see if your package has been shipped.
Declined cards: A small number of you had your cards decline when I charged you for shipping last week. That's expected and normal. Since then serval of you have updated your cards, but a few of you haven't yet. you probably didn't even notice! No problem. I will be re-charging cards on Monday the 23rd, so please check your card on Backerkit to make sure everything is okay. If something has come up and you need me to delay charging your card please let me know.
Addresses and billing: There are still a few of you who pledged for physical rewards that have not provided your addresses or billing info for shipping. I can't send you anything unless I have your address! I've already reached out to you through Kickstarter and by email, so please check your messages! I want to send you your stuff!
Posters and Plushies: As I mentioned in the last update (or the one before?) there's been a small production delay on the posters and plushies. I will be shipping those separately when they arrive, at no additional cost. This was always the plan with the posters, since they require tubes and wouldn't fit into the book boxes anyway. I don't have an exact schedule for these items at the moment, but I don't expect them to be delayed too long. I think I'll have an update about this for you pretty soon.
Shipping refunds: I was correct that some of you ended up being charged a little more for international shipping than nessacary. In most cases it was less than $3 (in a few cases you were undercharged by a few dollars). I've been sending out small refunds as I go, so check your bank account for that. Please note, one backer told me that somehow their refund ended up being a debit. I don't know how that happened (it reads as a refund on my end), but the Backerkit team is looking into it. If this happens to you please contact me immediately!
Digital rewards: I am planning to fulfill digital rewards like the Season 5 PDF and the Modest Medusa Digital Library early next month. Basically I want to get all the packages out the door first. I'll have an update about this next month. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten! A lot of you have asked if the 48Hour Modest Medusa book will be available digitally. Yes, everyone will get a copy of it for free!

Cards charged! Shipping! More!

Finally. After a few weeks of setbacks and frustration I've managed to wrap everything up! Today I've locked orders on Backerkit and charged your cards. Shipping will finally start this week. Here's what that means:
Orders are locked: Your Backerkit orders are locked and can't be changed. This means you can no longer add items to your order, or remove items you've added. If you discover you do need to change something, please just contact me!
Cards charged: I've charged your cards through Backerkit for shipping and any extra items you've ordered through the pledge manager. This will show up on your card as a charge form "Yeldstuff". You should also receive an email from Backerkit. If you have any questions about this, please contact me. Right away I noticed that some of your cards declined. This is very normal and to be expected. Often banks will flag charges from Backerkit. And of course sometimes its just insufficient funds (we've all been there). Please double check your card info on Backerkit to make sure its up to date and there are no mistakes. I'll be charging declined cards again next week, but if you're in a situation where you need some time please let me know.
Confirm your order: A few of you never got around to providing a shipping address for your physical items, so I can't send them to you or charge you for shipping. Please check to make sure you provided an address!
Pick up: A few of you are friends who live close to me and have either already picked up your books or plan to this week. Unfortunately, I forgot to separate your charges from everyone else, so you got charged for shipping. Sorry about that! I will be refunding your shipping fees asap. Hopefully by the end of this week.
Updating Addresses: Every time I do a Kickstarter about 5% of the packages get sent back to me because the addresses need to be updated. I'm especially concerned about this now since its been almost a full year since the Kickstarter. So if you have moved in the last year please check your address in both Backerkit and Kickstarter! Today, if you can!
Shipping: I've spent the last week signing and packing books, so a lot of them will be ready to ship this week. My hope is to get MOST of the orders out the door next week. Look for tracking numbers on Kickstarter later this week and next week.
Delays: We're having a small unexpected delay with both the plush Medusa items and prints, so I've decided I'll ship these separately (at no extra cost). I don't expect the delay to be too long, and I'll keep you updated. If you have any questions please contact me.
